Hi everyone. I am looking for any information someone might have on larger ceiling fans that are also mounted very close to the ceiling. I’ve seen a coupe of 9 fit units and similar sizes at Northern Tool but they all seem to hang down about a foot. I’m limited To an 8 foot ceiling in my garage so trying to find something that can flush mount and not have to do multiple smaller fans. Anyone have any leads or tips I could check into, or perhaps know if these hanger type fans actually can be flush mounted with some minor modifications?

IMHO, You may have to get "Really Creative" to mount a Big Box Store popular priced fan hanging from an 8' ceiling.
I have a fan hung from a 9' ceiling with a very short Down Tube, Are you near any Specialty Stores that focus on fans?

If you mount them too close to the ceiling they might not get enough air flow to do any good.

This. A big fan needs air and hugging the ceiling will just make it perform poorlyIf you mount them too close to the ceiling they might not get enough air flow to do any good.

Agreed. With a low ceiling, you're better off pursuing air circulators instead of a ceiling fan.

Mounted tight to the ceiling you're probably better served with the fan reversed.
