A friend of mine owns a business in town and they were cleaning out his shop today. He called and asked if I might be interested in a pedestal grinder. I went by to look at it and it's too large for my needs, plus it's got a 3 phase motor on it. It is likely this grinder was sold surplus by the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII and has been used little if any since. Right now it has a wire wheel on one end of the spindle and a buffing wheel on the other. He really wants it to go to somebody that will appreciate and use it, not sell it for scrap. The spindle has absolutely NO play either radially or axially. He said it does work and all the parts are there except for a half dozen bolts.

Is anybody here interested? If so, contact me and I'll get you his contact info. The grinder is located in Brady, Texas.

Edit:

It looks just like this one listed on Ebay. I was wrong about all the parts being there. The guard on the long side of the spindle is missing. It's still one hell of a machine.

If it were local, it would be in my truck now. However, shipping is more than it's worth.

Sometimes we lack imagination. I passed on this belt sander and am still ashamed.

I would love to take it as I have an addiction/affliction for grinders. Unfortunately I am in Houston so it is 5 1/2 hours from me otherwise it would be mine! I will forward to some folks I know in Austin and San Antonio and see if they are interested.
