Maybe try someone who does vehical wraps with vinyl. Depending on the texture of your walls this may work. Think of it as a giant phat head sticker for your wall.

I am thinking of covering a wall with a glue on poster instead of painting. The material needs to be washable and I'd like a high enough pixel count that the picture is still interesting up close because it's a pretty small room. A car theme would be nice, maybe an old gas station or roadscene.
Maybe you guys have a favorite picture you could show in case I decide to go custom instead of what the company might have.
Who would you use... Does anybody on GJ do that for a living g?

To answer your question……….;)

Look at flathead.com, they do custom murals. Their stock stuff isn't to bad, the murals are pricey

I saw some cool old garage pictures and other auto scenes at a Mecum auction in Indy a few years ago (vender area). They could either be hung like a picture or used a wall paper. They were different sizes some about 8'x10'. I got the girls card and I will see if I can locate it and post the name.

"Murals Your Way" offers a large selection of wall murals in the transportation category for the home and shop. Small size is 3 x 6 feet. Large size is 12 x 8 feet. They will also custom print a picture and make a wall mural for you.

Fredex / kinkos can print whatever you want* up to some pretty big sizes (at least 5', maybe 8' at certain locations).

Halfpricebanners.com makes reasonably priced cheeseburgers. I mean banners. They can be very high resolution if you're willing to pay.

You might find an art student interested in painting something for you.

Stay away from the Fathead type vinyl graphics if you want something that's to last for more than a year. These a removable adhesive and over time they will edge curl. Regular commercial paste up wallpaper is your best bet. It can apply to most surfaces with the proper base coat. Application is way more forgiving that adhesive vinyls and much easier for do it yourselfer's.

If you can find something you like from a website then go that way. If not you have to find a GOOD high res art file and then have it printer. $4.00 - $5.00 per sq. ft. is market cost for printed custom wallpaper on a 18-20oz commercial wallpaper. Lots so small local sign shops can produce this for you IF you can find good high res art. Start on google and they have search settings for high res art. Most likely you need a file 25-50 Meg's in size or 75 DPI at full size
