I've seen guys use these in videos but never in real life. Seems to me would be super handy for those large 2" and up, .1" thick snap rings that kick my ***. I see those Supergoodhappytool brands around, but would like something nicer but Snapon would be unnecessary.

OTC is made in Taiwan but they are good quality. Another option is the lisle cross bar snap ring tool, easier to apply the necessary force if you have room for it.

I'm not sure who the actual OEM is but I think the proto, OTC, and a few others are all roughly the same ratcheting 16" pliers. I think we have them in the proto variety at work and they do fine.

For home use the Astro set is cheap enough for the 4 times you will be able to fit them where you need to and probably good enough for the average mechanics use.

The 4513 Stinger Set maybe, as Stinger tools always have been

The good ones are the 7300 and 7301 which are made in the US.

I think KNIPEX make really good snap ring pliers. I just bought a big pair for a huge thick snap ring on my mill. They don’t ratchet, but if the handles are long enough, not sure why you’d need that. My pair are 12-3/4” long. Internals. They were $38 on Amazon.

Got a used set of the OTC 7300 and 7301 on the way from ebay. Needs a couple of tips, but a fair deal. Thanks fellers
