I need a 1/2 inch drive, 1.5 inch impact socket. I have an Ingersoll set up to 1.25 inches, but nothing bigger.

They make sizes larger than 1.25 in 1/16 increments.
Which sizes should I get? I don’t want to waste money on socket sizes that are rarely used.

Thanks.

Depends on what you are doing.

1-7/16" is the "heavy nut" for a 7/8" stud... 1-5/16" is "standard" for 7/8" stud.

1-1/2" is standard for 1" stud. 1-5/8" is the "heavy nut" for a 1" stud...

1-3/8" used to get used some.....I used it for some FoMoCo front end parts last Fall....

Hope this helps....

Only you can answer what your needs are. Do you work on big stuff? No, then buy the 1-1/2 individually. Yes, buy the ones in between too.

I’d just buy the individual, I’m guessing you aren’t just starting out so you’ve gone however long without needing anything bigger until now. correct me if I’m wrong of course, would only buy a bigger set if you’re branching into larger equipment and expect to need them in the future
