So I've convinced the wife that we need a shed, and I will be storing all my home tools in there, as well as work shop stuff (like screws, building supplies, and the like).
Anyway, My question is what would be the best size for this project. I have framed before, and built various other projects, but never a shed/workshop. I will be insulating, and I think building with 2x6 walls, and will probably R40 the roof just because. Will be applying vapor barrier without sheeting the inside (money restraints) . . .
I will be building my rafters and thus think I will not be able to go wider than say 13 or 14 feet to keep it simpler. I do not need to do a lot of work inside the shed/workshop per se as I have use of my place of employment. Ideally this is just for storing things, and having space maybe to work on a quad/snow machine inside away from bugs/snow. I will not be pouring a cement pad because cannot afford it, thus will not be able to work on a vehicle inside the shop.
Thinking 12x12 or 12x20 . . .
What do you think?
Yeah, this might be somewhat of a mancave, or could turn into one, so let your imagination run wild, am up to any suggestions.
