So I have a post-military career now as an HVAC sales rep for a great company in southern Illinois. As part of my job, we go to the customers home and lay out their floorplan in our software and it gives us the heating and cooling load based on the home, as well as how many cfm each room requires. I am looking at some of the new Bosch bluetooth laser measures that will create a floorplan, which would make my job a heck of a lot faster!

Do any of you have any experience with the bluetooth lasers? I was looking at Bosch with the backlit color screen. The GLM 50c caught my eye as it does angles too, that would be nice for roof pitches for spray foam quotes.

Thanks for the advice!

Yes. The floor plan software works in theory. But once the novelty wears off, you won't use it. It's a tiny bit finicky.

I have the color model with the big bright screen. It eats batteries. You really have to turn it off every time you use it. The little cheap one was in some ways better. I bought the color model because I couldn't read fractions on the tiny black and white screen. To tell the truth, these are best used for +/- 1" measurements
