Laser Levels

What Laser Levels do ya'll have in your stash ?

I had a PLS3 and a Robotoolz....
Both grew legs.


Looked at a ton of to laser levels.
Mostly interiors these days, so a thinner line/accuracy are +.
Like what I see on the Stabila levels. Not a fan of the David Whites BUT I do like the fact that it's 1/16" - 100 ft.

Thoughts, suggestions

i keep the 100 dollar ryobi cross hair on my truck. it has never let me down and saved me tons of time.

It's down to 3 lasers. I like them all for various reasons

PLS 4
PLS HVL 100

Both are rated at 1/8 - 100'
I do like the form factor of the PLS 4 but then again, this is what I've used in the past and it's nice and *portable* - clippable


Bosch GLL3-08
Interesting for it's form factor. 3 Planes - 360 degrees.
Not a fan of it's 1/4- 100' spec. That is 2X that of the PLS

Craftsman. Got it on sale, came with a tripod and is self leveling. Very handy.

When I had an almost daily use for one- Topcon.
And a Topcon Transit Level. Along with rod and tripod.
Sold them a few yrs ago.

Heh. Those topcon's are sweet at 1/16-100".
U know what they say, buy once, cry once.

I'm going for smaller just to lay and plumb.
Topcon is actually on my to do list for the next Bigger Purchase.

I use a Robo vector 5 beam and a Bosch that shoots a horizontal and vertical line. Both self level. My 5 beam has been collecting dust as the full lines are way more versatile for framing and setting doors, shelves etc.
The 5 beam I use for setting up frames on my hotrods and thats where the 5 beam excels.

I used a cheap HF one to lay out the lines in my garage. It is a little figity, but at $45 for a very low use item, it was worth it.

Certainly not good for commercial use, but for home use it works great.

Dewalt dw087k,

Love the hiltis more, but the dewalts have been great - since they inevitably take a fall...

I have this Spectra and it works REALLY well. Overkill for indoor stuff though. You can still use it don't get me wrong. It is just meant for larger jobs. I have a CST Berger Tripod and Rod to go along with it. The thing is on the money for Foundations, Decks and Ground work. You can use it for Cabinets, Chair Rail and such too. Maybe a little on the upper side of the price range you are looking for.
