I have been looking for one of these for a while now and finally found one thst was complete and in working condition. I am stoked that all I really needed to do was disassemble and clean the castings and wire wheel the moving parts. I would love to here about anyone else who may have experience with this sander. this is a 101.0803 and I am using 80 grit on the belt and 120 on the disk. The original paint turned out to be beautiful.

Been sanding lots of Lignum Vitae and have been really happy with this sander. I would love to hear and chat with others with an older Craftsman sander. I enjoyed taking it apart and making it new again and would love to hear about improvements, the quest for roller covers etc from others.

I missed this thread first time around...what a nice machine!

I'd love to find one myself...I have a much newer C-Man model...

There was a guy selling parts for this in the classifieds. I picked up two of the yokes for mine, as they are missing some parts, and are the most likely part that is shot (mine has quite a bit of travel currently left<->right).

High on my list for a teardown and restore, when I get the time.

For anyone else looking for parts, there is one on ebth.com (Everything But The House Estate Sales) in Herndon, VA. Also comes with a Stanley bench grinder. Shipping is too expensive for where I live.

I have the same sander, love it and will be sprucing mine up soon.

Larry, keep an eye on ebay for them, they turn up all the time for around $30-40.
