I've been on the lookout for a Kennedy roll-around tool chest to compliment a top and middle chest I have.

There were a couple local Craigslist posts this weekend, one was for an entire Kennedy stack including a side box and caster cart for $275, and another nearly new roll-around bottom chest for $400.

I really didn't want to spend $400, so I went to look at the more economical of the two. The entire stack was more than I wanted and needed, but I could always resell the unwanted pieces.

When I arrived I learned it included some tools as well, which clinched the deal for me. Really don't need more hand tools but hey, free is free!

The boxes were all in good shape, drawer slides were all in good working condition, no dings or dents, although the felt and wrinkle finish was quite worn in some areas. One of the bottom drawers had the interior paint damaged from a spill of some sort. No big deal.

I will keep the roll-around and side boxes and relist the top and middle box and expect I can get $75 or so.

The wrenches are almost all Craftsman USA, the extensions are SK, T-handled Allen wrenches are Vaco, the standard handle ball-end Allen wrenches are Bondhus, the drive punches are MAC, the tap wrench is General. There are a number of misc tools as well.

After I relist the top and middle box, I'll have about $200 in.

The pics below are actual tools, but the stack is a different but a similar stack to mine. The seller had removed the ad by the time I got home.

In my area, l'd list the top and mid chests at $150 and see how far they'll talk you down. I wouldn't go below $100 for the pair.

Sounds like you got what you needed/wanted. Do the bottom and side have the snap in drawer slides? Almost sounds like you got a versacart setup. :dunno:

BTW, with you, not a fan of the machinist series top and middle chests. Too shallow for top boxes.

I have the Kennedy roller cart for that set-up in the corner of my garage. Unfortunately I've also got an engine and trans sitting on it.....

Nice find. Kennedy is not a well known brand outside of the machining industry, but great quality nonetheless.
