So my latest Cripe distributing haul included the following:
KD snap ring pliers, 17” Armstrong handled pry bar, 24 and 32 ounce ball pein hammers, Armstrong full polish 13 mm 6 point wrench, Bosch 5/16 Sds bit, and a Chinese Allen 1 inch flex head ratcheting wrench. All for less than 100 dollars. Gotta love Cripe!

I love that place....except for the insane shipping costs. That prevents 99% of my orders.

Same. I just can't bring myself to pay for shipping. Price does not seem to be any better when you have a larger order either.
I've got 7 items in my cart, mostly wrenches and cheapest shipping is $14.

I've bought some stuff from the them in the past, but it's been about 2 years.

That said... I don't blame Cripe alone. USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc. have been raising their shipping rates for years.

If you send the cart and request invoice with combined shipping, they will consolidate.
Yes if you buy from their eBay page you can request a shipping discount but even with that I have not made more purchases from them because of the shipping. Guess Zoro and Amazon have spoiled me on free shipping

You've now discovered one of the reasons I got out of the TOPTUL business. The shipping was killing me. Everybody ******* about how Amazon is killing the little guy. Well, normally they are not doing it on price. Their doing it with Prime. I sell a wrench set for $30 and the USPS wants $20 to ship it. Most people will not tolerate that.

Cripe is excellent

You HAVE TO CONTACT FOR BEST SHIPPING COST.
I'm very happy with Cripe. On one occasion, they filled a Flat-Rate box and sent it to me along with a partial refund on shipping. I hadn't even contacted them first, and they still did right by me.

Good morning,

Amanda here with Cripe! We appreciate all the feedback here. In regards to shipping cost, please, please, please reach out to us if you feel shipping could be adjusted. I wish more people understood the whole "Free Shipping" concept. There is NO free shipping, anywhere. They literally hide the shipping cost within the cost of the item and call it a good deal! There have been MANY times where our cost (even with "outrageous" shipping costs applied) have beat the "free shipping" cost by LOTS!

We do appreciate each and every one of you. If any of you are looking for any specifics, please let me know. I'd love to help! Ya'll have a great rest of your day and a great weekend!! =)

-Amanda

P.S. Applying promo/discount code: FunIn21 through our direct website, will save you 10% off your purchase (which usually takes care of the entire shipping cost....fyi!!)

Last year ALONE, we had (3) price increases with the carriers! It's ridiculous.

Reach out for that adjusted shipping cost! =)

I had no idea Cripe had an account here. But that's good to see.

Thanks for giving your feedback. I don't do much shipping these days and I rarely buy from anywhere other than Amazon to be honest, but I'm always left a bit speechless when I see shipping prices over the past several years... It was either early last year or late 2019, I had to mail some documents and it cost me like $14 via USPS. I couldn't believe it. A damn cardboard envelope was $14.

You're absolutely correct about the "free" shipping concept. Nothing in life or business is free, ever. Amazon has a monthly Prime shipping charge, other people charge per item (they "hide" the shipping costs in the item price), or "free" shipping if you spend "x" amount, etc...

I do have one complaint though. I shouldn't have to contact you to combine or otherwise lower the shipping cost. Your merchant software should do that automatically or something your order processing/billing staff should do. Expecting the customer to contact the merchant to haggle over shipping is a bit absurd. That said however, on one of my orders way back you guys did a refund a partial shipping charge.

Edit: Thanks for the promo code. I'll see what that can save me. I have some things I'd like to order.

We are SO busy I'm not able to really connect with customers the way I'd like to for the company but I'm trying to get there a little more when I can! =)

Yes, shipping is absurd and I agree with you on your complaint. The customer should not have to contact to haggle over cost. With SO many listings on eBay and our direct website (not being able to link the two due to eBay policies), we have to maintain 10,000 listings (per site - 20,000 total) individually. It's a VERY tedious job and can only be worked on during down times. TBH, there are only about five of us now here at our warehouse and this includes Mrs. Deb Cripe (we kicked Ron out of the office - ha)! It's a working progress to get our software to calculate shipping costs to be where they should be quoting but we are working on it. =)

Just a little note about inventory - if there is ever anything listed on eBay that you do not see on our site, please reach out so we can get that added or adjust stock quantity, as needed.

We appreciate you. Let me know if I may assist any further! It's been nice speaking with you!

Several years back I did some work for a friend who ran an electrical supply company. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago... But similar to Cripe, we had to manually update the online inventory literally line item by line item for thousands of items on multiple websites. And when we "got to the end of the list", we had to start all over again because inventory had already changed by then. It was a tedious, repetitive and painful task.

YEESSS. We, too, sell on multiple platforms so when the shipping carriers had (3) separate price increases, we could have strangled them!! So painful!

I've been very happy with CRIPE sales and service. Navigating the website is a bit of work, due to sold out items still listed, and search / sort limitations, but that's just feedback, not a complaint. Much appreciate the discount code? Any chance of getting a GJ discount that could be applied to members? Epsteins has started doing this and it is pretty nifty.

Any indication of the COO of those Gedore ball pein hammers? Thanks.

People complaining about shipping costs obviously aren't buying stuff online where shipping costs are a number you can see, as opposed to simply being built into the prices you're paying.
The smallest USPS flat-rate box is now about $8 bucks.
Just put the stuff in the "cart" (on Ebay) and shoot them a note and ask them to combine shipping. Easy peasey.
No problem dealing with them or with shipping, because the prices are competitive and delivery time is two days (maximum) for me.

I gave in, used that promo code and ordered a few items I've been wanting.
Also sent an e-mail asking if it was possible to combine shipping and lower the cost any. We'll see.

Unfortunately it's Friday.

Yep, easiest thing once the stuff is in the cart is click the "request total from seller". It's not like everybody has what they're offering. "free shipping" and two day shipping has a lot of people spoiled I guess.

Thanks alot lol. Never heard of Cripe, read this thread, promptly got on ebay and bought some stuff. I am regional to them so shipping not unreasonable.

This could be a bad thing....

Last couple weeks at least a few orders with them directly from their website. Haven’t had any issues.

I've been happy with them. Browsing their website or eBay store is kind of like being at the flea market and just needing to dig! The last order I had was a set of concrete drill bits, I pieced together a pretty full set for the price of a single bit at the local big box.

I ordered some more off their ebay store.. appeared to have better stock than web site. They did indeed provide cheaper shipping when I asked for an invoice.

Yep. What he said. Although not regional for me. GJ has caused me to spend a lot of money over the years. But there are certainly worse things I could be spending on...

I recently had to reach out to Cripes customer service, they were great to deal with and definitely went above and beyond to correct the issue. 100% would recommend. I also can attest to shipping being one of the highest costs in running an internet based business, I was surprised to learn how many hours that it took to get our sites shipping calculator dialed in to reflect the actual shipping cost for any given transaction, and the more items you carry that harder that is to do

They probably should join Amazon platform and let Amazon to take care of shipping.

They actually are on Amazon under MHS group or something of the sort. But, again, you're gonna end up paying more bc the shipping is calculated within the price of the item.

If I had to buy tools off the internet, I would go through Cripe Distributing. I hate Amazon because they don't sell the stuff I am looking for.

AND, to be honest, Cripe's listed inventory usually DOES NOT reflect actual stock. Some call it "panic buying" when listing only a certain amount each time. Ron Cripe prefers this method as others aren't so fond.

Not that it helps anyone on this end but they have SO much more inventory than they have listed. I would say, even if you're looking for something you can't find on the site, (depending on the day and the mood of Mrs. Cripe 😆 - don't even try on a Monday), you should ask if someone would look around for you. You never know!

Also, don't forget the 10% discount code guys and gals!! It generally takes care of the entire shipping cost when entered during checkout and every bit helps!

You're welcome 😘

Haven't ordered anything in a while but I'm a big fan of Cripe. As far as shipping, maybe it's because I'm only one state over but it's always been reasonable and unlike Amazon doesn't take a week or more to get here.

Anybody have a valid discount code? I am looking to place my first order and the above code is no longer valid.
