You know the wheels will fall off your car, the radio will be full of static, and the windows fog up if you use HF wrenches on your vehicle, Bill. Anything less than Snap-on causes irreversible damage to the entire vehicle.

I guess I'll just have to use them to disassemble and demolish the vehicle, since they aren't good enough for assembly.

I would have gone for Craftsman, but they're China too, so what's the difference?

Plus I got one of those free reach and grab devices so I don't have to bend over...!

Wife and I went saturday. Got 2 free flashlights, one trash bag holder and some 80 grit 5 in sanding discs with 20 percent off on both items. Looked for discontinued items but found none that I was interested in. Not bad for less than 10 bucks.

I can't see how they wouldn't work for you. Let us know what your experience is with the wrenches. If one fails, let me know what size and I'll send you a Craftsman USA to use and compare it to. That will only work until I get around to selling them; they're still a ways down the line. If you're able to fail both a HF and a Craftsman, I'll send you a Proto or Snap-on to compare instead.

Those wrenches aren't bad, considering the price and warranty.

The open end is pretty soft, but you shouldn't be using that to break fasteners loose anyway.

Well that explains it - I just got the head back on my car, used mostly Craftsman tools, and the engine has already fallen out twice.

Hopefully everything works out. I bought my dad a bunch of HF stuff to put together a second set of tools to keep at his farm. He has bought and used harbor freight stuff in the past, and not had any issues. One of the most productive techs in a shop I used to work at used MOSTLY HF/Asain import stuff. There were a few tools that were snapon/matco/mac but most of his stuff was import, and he could often times beat warranty time on repair jobs. So why not buy away, and replace the stuff if it fails either under warranty or with higher quality stuff?

We have the longs in SAE on both service trucks..Use them if needed to reach an awkward Hydrauilic line on something...Fit on both ends is as good as any.. but if you have ahold of something with the box end..and put much into it...the longer ones will flex..but hav'nt had one break....and i know my guys have probably tried to break them...lol

First thing I would do is polish that black stuff off those sockets.

:lol_hitti

I bought that same set last fall. Also the 1/2" metric swivels. You can't go wrong with them.

I have the long wrenches and love them. Have had a set for in the vehicle and out in the field for quite some time none have failed yet. Have lost several and that's why the nice tools don't leave the garage.

I'd be afraid the wife would kick me in the nads if I tried to take her to HF just to snag some extra freebies. Jeez, the weekends just aren't that long.

I walked out with a couple mobile base kits yesterday. The proceeded to build them up using steel tubing whilst glancing at the instructions.

Then today, I walked out with a 3/4hp 8" bench grinder for a mere $35. So i must now prepare for my shop to be struck by lightning and burn to the ground.

Years ago, the lady I was seeing needed a pair of shoes. She asked me to take her to the mall. I didn't realize that it would be an all day project, through 4 malls. As we stopped at the 2nd mall, I told her to look me up at Sears, in the tool dept. when she was done

That was when CM tools were USA made, and not junk

That's why I hate malls, even if I can get a free flashlight

Yea....I still like to hide out at the Craftsman section....but you can only do that for so long... Then i get one of them $7.00 coffees, find a nice bench, and watch all the pretty girls walk by...It's really not so bad.... Only one time it got ugly..i left my cell phone in the truck....and switched benches to upgrade my view... when she finally found me she was pissed.....lol

I bought the swivel impacts to remove my truck bed bolts to replace a fuel pump. But as I've been told I did that wrong and should've just cut a hole in the truck bed. Probably from the same guys who look down on HF sockets.

I have those long wrenches in SAE and metric and have no complaints. I've used them to replace wheel hubs, control arms, fix gym equipment and a bunch of other jobs. I've pounded on them with a rubber mallet and no problems with rounded fasteners.

Back when we were young I loved taking the wife shoe shopping, I would make her try on all the 5+ heels and thigh high boots. (Bought her a few pairs of those as well.)

Then it would be a stop at the lingerie store for more eye candy...

Interesting comment, I bought a few odd USA made Cman tools today and none are junk. To each their own but I havent been a fan of HF in years bc the prices keep going up and the quality down.

Sadly...seems like the quality of the ratchets has gone up since moving production offshore....but that wasn't hard to do....

Sounds like a wonderful afternoon! I love being phone free once in a while!!My wife gets mad at me for leaving the phone in the car sometimes too. She acts like there is no other way to find people, i asked her what did we do before we had cell phones? It really wasnt that long ago!

I remember. We'd go to the mall, then agree to meet at a certain place and time, usually an hour or two later.

Now if my wife is with me in a tool store, she doesn't complain, but I can see she's ready to leave. So I just go to those places alone.

Yea it was the same at amusement parks...always have a "meet here at this time" established before we would go our own ways.. now we rely solely on the phones to make contact
