I've always been amazed by some of the items people throw-out!

Now it seems as though I've gotten my brother involved in helping me feed my old tool/machinery addiction.

My brother stopped by the other day & said he had something for me in the back of his car. He stated that he didn't know what it was, But it looked like something I would want!

They were just planning to toss it out where he works!

You have a use for a pipe vise? I've given up on acquiring 'stuff' as it consumes space that could be used for usable, by me, stuff. That was a great tool in its day.

This.. it's only worth it if it'll get used.. I have an electric cement mixer (among dozens of other thing) that I've never used, can't bring myself to sell, and it's just a waste of space.. I've saved enough orphans...

Those are very useful if you do any pipe work. I salvaged a more compact model from the garbage probably because they did not know what it was. Mine looks as though it belongs on a SHOPSMITH or something similar. I use mine for hold exhaust pipes, etc.

Maybe they need the room for useful stuff.

Looks cool, but it would be just something else, for me to stumble over and I already have plenty.

Enjoy!

I'd imagine you could use them for locking down angle iron and long stretches of straight steel as well, sort of like a feeder table extension. if someone rolled by my house and dropped it off with me I figure I could use it from time to time rather than letting stuff drag on the ground and marring up the concrete.

Good score and good save! I somewhat agree with the others about accumulating things we do not need, but it pisses me off to see perfectly good tools go into the trash. Please donate them to a good cause like Restore or the Salvation Army Thrift Store. Someone who needs it will buy it and the proceeds go to a good cause.

Probably more like no one there knew what it was & they just wanted to get rid of it.

My brother works in a advertising/sales type office & he said it's just been sitting in the back of their storage/receiving area for several years. I'm guessing that a plumbing or electric contractor may have left it behind at some point.
