The motor is not original and the table was abused but the end result turned out pretty good and it will make a good drill press.

Some before and after pics...

Great job on the resto, but have to say what kind of drugs were the previous owners on to make such a ******** arc of shame! Glad you have it and will use it!

VERY NICE Restoration! How did you get the table surfaces looking so nice?

As an aside: In my father's shop (where he taught me to run all manner of machine tools when I was 10 to 17 years old), damaging a table like that was a probably a capital offense. Later, when I went to work at an aerospace company in my early 20's, it was an offense that would get you fired!!

Impressed! I can't believe that is the same press! Can you tell me about the paint you used? That color has a real nice 50s feel to it and I'd sure like to find somehting similar for some projects in my garage.

Is there any way to repair an arc like that? Fill it with a welder, and have it surface ground?

I bought a piece of 1/2 plate the same size and bolted it on with countersunk screws. I had mine blanchard ground to make it flat, but that's not real necessary.

Thanks. I started with a wire wheel on a hand grinder. I followed that with some WD40 and one of those green scouring pads. And finished with some fine grit steel wool.

Thank you. The paint color is gloss Sage Green by Rustoleum. I painted 2 coats of primer followed by 4 coats of the green.
