Found Snap-on 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. Soaked in evaporust and does not seem to be chromed finish. Has A-4-E marking. Just looking for any info.

A-4 is the part number.
The “E” is the date code, around wartime 1944.

Very cool. Thanks for the info. Timeframe makes sense as tool was my grandfather worked in navy yard. Not sure I'll keep this one. Can any value be placed on this one? Is there a reference for tool values?

OH, I assume $0.45 needs to be adjusted for inflation!
