Lathe Brand Identification

I was given this lathe the other day, and after much time spent cleaning it I can't find any brand markings on it. I'm hoping someone can id it visually.

Many years ago it came out of a shop that powered it from an over head shaft with belts dropping down to the head. The electric motors were added after it left the shop.

The bed is 36", 1" hole in the spindle and a 7" swing. The brass plate on the cross feed is instructions only.

Thanks guys.

Impossible to identify without pictures--and maybe not even then. There were many small machine tool builders in the line shaft days and it was not unheard of to not cast in a builder's name. If no one here knows, I would suggest the antique machine section of the Practical Machinist forum

Well I did some sleuthing for you, and it appears to be a Monarch Model E based on the pictures in this thread: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/monarch-lathes/old-monarch-need-help-iding-manual-207947/

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they decided the power feed needed its own motor, and decoupled it from the main drive. This means single point threading is now impossible, unless the two motors are able to perfectly synchronize with each other. It might be possible to find the original gear train and put it back, but I doubt it.

Thank you AL, I do appreciate you time and effort. Guess I won't be cutting threads on this old relic.
