Very old, rusty - missing some parts. Probably well worn.
I don't know South Bends, but it's either one of theirs or a copy.
It seems to have both change gears and some sort of feed adjustments on it.
Not worth a ton of money unless it's got a real nice assortment of tooling with it. $500 is on the high end. Probably more like $200-300 if it runs.

If it doesn't have tapered roller bearings for the headstock spindle, it is way overpriced. The amount of rust on it, especially the lead screw, is a real turn-off. The quick change gearbox is a plus, but only if the guts are in good condition.

Agreed - looks like the southbend 16" where I take classes though this looks smaller. Decent but this one looks like it's gonna need some major cleanup. If you can check it out and make sure the ways are in OK condition, probably worth $200 and some time...

It has a gearbox (2 levers on left), so no change gears needed. Depending on size and make may be a deal. If a heavy 10 SB with 48" bed, taper attachment and collet holder and some tooling (Has chuck) it's a deal as long as ways are good.

If you are lucky, that "rust" on key machined surfaces is greasy gunge, so inspect carefully! definitely some surface rust on the mounted chuck though. if the ways and lead screw are heavily rusted, then it's probably a parts machine at best.
IF the ways and backlash (X3) are decent, and IF is has ball/roller bearings and a LOT more tooling maybe $500 (since you are on TX and not the rust belt...)
But don't be afraid to offer less; it's a project, not a working machine.
