Hi all,

Found this a few years ago while cleaning out my Grandfather's workshop after he passed away. No markings other than "214-100" and "214-200" on the headstock and tailstock. The headstock, tailstock, and tool rest seem to be cast iron while the bed is steel tube. I have tried searching and haven't found anything that looks similar. I was hoping someone here would be able to identify it as I might like to restore it (Once I collect all of the missing parts!).

Thanks for any advice you can give,

Jason

looks like a wood lathe kit
it appears to be that you would buy the cast pieces as a 'kit' and then supply
the tube, motor, and pully yourself

I had assumed this was a wood lathe. :)

Were these kits common? Any idea what company might have produced these things?

really not sure how common they are
I used to have one that attached to the tip of a table saw and used a belt down to a pully installed on the blade arbor
have seen a couple of other 'kits' that did not come with motors but none quite like you have
motors used to cost a bunch more than they do now, one idea was that you could swap the motor from something else you have when you need it.
mostly anymore people only want something that works as is because they have little creativity
