Has anyone used these I am looking at there tablets

I like the scope, battery, sensor and j2534 for launch but not sure about user navigation

Where the autel maxisys pro does all too with j2534 but looks easier to use
I like the WiFi and being able to browse alternative sources within scan tool

I have a solus ultra but both of these do more for the money compared to snap on offering please no fan boys I am looking at realistic point of views as a lot of money to eventually invest into

Thank you for any input

Cant vouch for the autel. But our launch x431 pad is going back to launch for the 4th time because now the screen doesnt work. About 4 months ago the motherboard took a dump. Launch had it for about a month. Its a descent tool for the money but lots of problems. Not really a polished product in my opinion. Not impresed. Problem with the launch also is you have to buy the add on boxes for the scope, batt tester, boro scope, and sensor box. Which can push the cost way up into the snap-on price range. Also you have to lug around two pieces of equipment if ur using the scope or anything else.

We've had the Autel Maxidas DS708 about a year in the shop and it has worked great. Kicks serious *** in Euro and Asian cars and great with US domestics.

I use the maxidas 708 regularly. Its awesome. Even communicates with vehicles that are not even in production yet! Its very simple to use and such good value for money. I love the built in wireless, you can send a session to the printer without taking it out of the car. The support in the US is very good also.

I'd hold off buying Autel because Ford is suing them for allegedly stealing their software. The results of that lawsuit could play a significant part in Autel's future here at least.:dunno:

I did demo a autel maxisys pro that was unregistered and could not do a evap test I was disappointed with there customer service since they would not unlock full scanner functions for tool dealer to demo only demo mode.i am not going to drop 4 grand on scan tool that is not able to do simple functions. If this was a snap on I could get hands on help within the next day

That bull **** rumor has been going around for over 5 years now; probably started by snappy salesman due to loss of sales. Get an Autel system; works great...

Nope, not the Snappy man. This was a thread at IATN that was started a few days ago. Reminds me of all of the cloned scan tools.:dunno:

The launch and the autel are pretty much the same as far as capabilities. I have the Matco maxgo, which is a rebranded launch, and it is pretty darn impressive. It is much faster then my snap on scanner and more closely mimics the factory scan tool for each brand. My only complaint is that it doesn't graph quite as well as the snap on. I haven't used the autel 908, but I've used the older 708. It had excellent capabilities, but again, didn't care for the graphing. As far as customer service goes, I've had zero issues, so no need to make any phone calls.

Being a master Audi tech who has now moved to independents, i personally prefer the launch. Why?
Strictly due to the bidirectional abilities; which, in essence is not a proper statement. I have used both. The Autel is fantastic for user friendliness. it was designed to diagnose each and every manufacture to the highest capabilities of, well, lets use the term "generic" diagnostics.
Tthe Launch has the ability to program in the same concepts of the factory. As in, I am able to complete long coding of "most" modules in BMW and VAG meanwhile I am stuck with quick coding and bare minimal basic adaptations with Autel.

Both are great tools, but are only as good as the user.

How does it communicate with vehicles that are not even in production yet?

Blown94...
Development vehicles still use standardized CAN protocols to a point, but in the past some of the generic tools fell over because there was no recognition by way of a VIN or calibration id for example.

We use it because occasionally we need a generic tool to show the authorities that the diagnostics are still available to the average shop mechanic regardless of whether they have factory tools or not..
