Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with the launch tech crp229?
I am a DIYer and I recently purched the delphi ds150e vci with the clone software, the issue is that it is very heavy on European cars which I don't mind because 2 out of 3 of my cars are European but the 3 car is a Nissan Altima.
The data base doesnt even have the altima which is an issue because the main fuse blew and it messed with the communication between the ecu and the tcm and can ( also the ac it's working). So im tying to pin point the problem.
So my main questions are
Does the launch tech crp229 have bidirectional communications?
and how are the vehicle base?
lastly does it lock you out if you don't buy the updates?
Thanks in advance !

If you have European you might look at a better scanner for diy like older autel ds708 or used snap on solus ultra with European unlocked

Bi-directional control for $350? Is that possible?

Instead that the crp229 can, but I can't seem to find any info on it.
The one I have is a Chinese knock off of the Delphi/autocom vci and it does bi direction control and it was 120. But the software *****

I keep reading about bi-directional around here, you talk about coding ? right?

or just a service reset ?

Myself I wouldn't code my BMW with a universal obd interface, on the other hand Launch makes very nice equip...

Correct me if I'm wrong but bi-directional is the ability to read/clear codes and trigger stuff in the vehicle like fuel injectors, fuel pumps, etc., with the device so it's not only a scanner/reader.

From my understanding bi directional can do component tests as well as writing vins for Ecu/tcm replacement which I need because my tcm or bcm might be fried and the ac relay might be gone and I can't find it to test it. My vci can do all that but like I said the clone software data base is very limited on Japanese cars
