Lawn Sprayer??

Hey Fellas
I'm wanting to buy me a 25 gal. pull behind lawn sprayer to spray weed killer on my yard. Could you guys that have them tell me which ones you recomend. I read the reviews of the Fiemco and they are not good. They say that it will fall apart pretty quick. This will be my first one. Which ones do you guys like and why? Thanks Guys

I have a Fimco on a pull behind trailer that I bought from Tractor supply about 5 years ago that still works just fine. I relocated the portable spray wand from the side of the tank to the back of the sprayer. Overall it has been a good unit for me.

For 25 gallon you might consider one that mounts on the tractor. Takes up less room for storage and easier to maneuver around trees and into corners. Also you won't have the length of wire across the hitch to get damaged.

I have Fimco 50 gallon with a small B&S gas engine. It is at least 10 years old. The parts I've needed to replace were pretty common items available at most farm stores.

The previous owner removed the hand held wand and hose, I've never missed it. I have very few fruit trees.

I've had a Fimco 25 gal trailer tank sprayer for about 6 or 7 years and have had no problems. It's bee na great unit, and I buy another if this one disappeared.

I did find that when I turned the pump power off from the tractor that I pulled it with, the nozzles dribbled a lot at the ends of the rows, as the pressure in the lines bled off and then it left spots where the extra fertilizer made that grass grow faster and greener. I bolted an upright to the tongue of the trailer and mounted a 1/4 turn valve there which shuts off the flow to the spray bar. I can reach back and turn the valve to stop / start the chemicals, and while I need to reach behind me to turn the nozzles off, I'm not in the business, or doing this professionally, so it isn't a bad deal.

The best part of the tank sprayer, is that I can mix chemicals and treat for more than one problem at the same time. I just finished spraying both fertilizer and weed killer in the same tank mix, then went to the back lot where I spayed week killer only.

I get some blue dye that I add to the mixture, which lets me see where I've sprayed, so I don't over treat or have any skips.

Don't forget to either store the sprayer in a heated place in the winter, OR flush all the water out of it, so the pump doesn't freeze. I run a gallon of RV antifreeze through it in the fall.

My fimco has been great.. I put a couple of locknuts on here and there instead of regular nuts.... I'll but another.

I have one almost like yours (15 gallon tank), it is much heavier built than the Fimco. I mounted a 12 volt deep discharge battery on the tongue to avoid any possible problems using the alternator on the L&G tractor I was using it with, (JD G100 or JD GT235). I was very happy with it, except I wish it had a larger tank.

Hey Low n Slow, what kind of nozzles are those? I converted my sprayer to Tee-Jet ( a big agriculture sprayer parts manufacturer ) and they still dribbled when I shut off the pump.

I have an old Fimco tank that I'm working on making a sprayer out of. It's a good one, but the last several Fimco tanks I've been around, will disintegrate from UV damage in short order.
