if this is too off topic please delete.

now on to my problem.
i have a cub cadet lawn tractor, model # lt 1050 with 100 hrs on it about 3 yrs old. while mowing today ( about 1.5 hrs worth) i noticed a little spot that i missed. rolled up to it like usual and pulled the PTO, engine just cut out. stopped and restarted it , reversed thinking i may have drove over something causing it to **** out. once i restarted it i again pulled the PTO and it quit again. belts are good. no smoke.

any ideas of what to check out?

checked out the switch on th seat. still does the same thing. dies as soon as you pull the PTO to engage the blades.

Dies like you turned the switch off, or sputters and dies like it can't pull the load??

Take the belt off of the electric clutch and try again, this will eliminate the load issue.

There are likely several safety switches, one on the seat, one on the brake, maybe one on the gear shift lever.

Pulling the ground wire off the magneto should eliminate all safety switches as potential issues. However only do this to eliminate the safety switches, as you will only be able to shutdown the engine by manually grounding the magneto.

The seat switch is the most common one which is why I said that one.

Mopst people disco them or tape them down though. I did on my tractor since I was sick and tired of the tractor shutting down everytime I hit a bump and popped off the seat a little or when rocking the tractor side to side trying to unstick it (mainly snowblowing there)
