Posting in here cause I didn't see a category for this .."tools" maybe
Anyways I have a Husqvarna yth2448t riding mower..While running the engine during some leaky crankcase inspection I noticed hot exhaust coming from around the pipes so I thought maybe I had some leaky flange gaskets..Before I got new gaskets I decided to take the muffler off and just see how bad they were..When I took the muffler loose the whole thing fell away from the pipes..I thought maybe the welds broke but there is no welds..My gaskets look good so my leaking is coming from where the pipes insert into the muffler..So my question is how did the factory seal these junctions?..Whatever was there is no longer present.. Looked them up and it shows them as separate parts too

I hate to say this but that is common on the Briggs and Stratton engines. I have seen this type of muffler setup on several different brand of mowers. I know it does not do anything to simply replace the parts as it will leak exhaust again at the same place. Since it is a loud no matter what you do I just put the old parts back together and ignore It. I know my John Deere X590 has a similar exhaust but I never looked to see if it leaked there as there really is not much of a muffler on those lawn tractors can actually do
