Lawson is good. I have been to a few places that use them. Normally a woman is the sales rep, and they stop by in any frequent times or days you like. Pricing is cheaper then fastenall, Still good quality stuff!

I just bought a set of carbide burrs that were labeled Lawson, I thought it was a company that made them. Are they simply a retailer that relabeled another brand? Never heard of them before?

We have Lawson and fastenal at work. The Lawson rep is terribly lazy and won't even put the plastic caps in the cap drawers. He just sits them on top of the cabinet. The Lawson flap discs and conditioning discs always snap and are junk. Hands down fastenal is the only place I would use. The fastenal rep is there twice a week and takes care of our needs. Fastenal is the way to go!

We have Fastelal stores around here. I have an account with them but I rarely ever get to use it. They never have what Im looking for, and if they actually do have what I need, they usually want me to buy a box/bag of 100...... when I only need 2,6, or 8 of something. Lol. I have better luck at a well stocked local hardware store.

In dallas fastenal blows. Turner hardware has always stocked the odd stuff. I think it is the last real hardware store around here. The only time i hate going there is after ive left and realized how long i was poking around.

How about Bowman / Barnes Distribution?

I don't think they are anything better or worse than Lawson or Fastenal, but the sales guy has always been good - will find me whatever I need and takes back / refunds any product I decide is ****. Same salesman since 1995.

at our dealership we've used several different supply companies in the past,
all with the same results.....
great service for 6-12 months,
we get what we want when we want it, and in the quantities we need.

then they start "resuppling" us with stuff we'll never use.

most of the hardware we use is OEM supplied, we have veryspecific needs for certain fasteners, wire ties, wire connectors.

after about 12 months, everyone of them isnt even allowed through the door.
one tried to be sneaky and come through the back door, and all of a sudden a shipment shows up that we didnt order. :wtf:

now all of our hardware purchases are routed through 1 person, and distributed on an "as needed" basis through the other branches

It all depends on a good relationship with the sales rep with these places. Bowman, Lawson, Fastenal, Grainger, MSC are all very similar in terms of their bin stock programs.
