Hello,

I have a 24x32x14 garage that's completely unfinished at the moment. I plan to finish the ceiling, walls, and seal the floors with a lighter color. I'm struggling with layout and which lights to use.. There's a single garage door on the 24' wall. The garage will be used primarily for auto work (building a factory five car). I plan to use some task lighting for working.

I was originally thinking orienting the lights this way.

This is also an option.

Option 1)
Using the light fixture guidance from Platonic I found the MaxLite housing LSS2XT8USE4803 and bulbs (undecided) on bulbs. I'm kind of leaning this way based on the products probably being higher quality and lasting longer than Option 2.

Option 2)
Using the cheap pluggable lights on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FJP8H88/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Option 3)
Using the 2x2 panels -- this would require more lights I think and a much more expensive option.

Any help??

Anthony

Using the visual interior tool @ visual-3d.com I created this. I realize the Lothonia light is not the same as the other lights listed above but I'm not able to find the Maxlite or the Greentek bulbs. Is this the layout I should be using? Seems like a lot of lights!

OK. I tried attaching the files using the manage attachments below. Let me know if that works?

The two links you sent the pictures of the product looks exactly the same. Why can't the cheaper one be mounted directly to the ceiling?

Cheaper one could be mounted to the ceiling if you can find a mounting bracket that fits.

22K lumen fixture could be a bit much - consider installing a dimmer to cover that base if you go that route. Here's a similar fixture with better efficiency and lower price - https://www.ledlightingwholesaleinc.com/ZY-H5-165W-p/zy-h5-165w.htm

Might be able to get one of these brackets to fit:

Definitely considering installing with a dimmer regardless. This sounds good! That fixture works much better for my budget... still way over. Would installing just 6 of them work out well for light saturation?

Also, it looks like that fixture comes in 4000K too. I believe you've recommended 4k over 5k in other threads. Still the case for a 14' ceiling?

4000K vs 5000K is purely personal preference. I'm fine with either. The visual tool can give you ideal layout for even distribution in an empty room.

Fewer fixtures will make light distribution worse. Either higher qty. of lower lumen output fixtures or dimmers on current layout.
