I humbly submit a few pictures of my garage.

I have since built and added this workbench.

I have also added some vises. It is basically a three car garage that is two deep.
Resulting in a five or six car garage. This is where it happens at the Lazy 'J'.

Very nice. One question though, how do you use that bench? I have seen a couple people here say they have a woodworkers bench, but have no idea what that means.......I am a mechanic slowing trying building with wood.:lol_hitti

That workbench is beautiful. The garage is great too, but that workbench......

I'm more of a metal working type but I want one anyway.

Are those both of the Benchcrafted vises on that bench? It looks great!

I picked up an Emmert a while back, just waiting for the new shop to build a bench around it!

I like the sliding "I" beam for a better word you have in the darker timber, the contrast is ****...
Nice desk chair also, do you strap yourself in for the wild games.

That looks like a great place to be Lazy! Hang out and watch a movie, have a couple of beers. Play around with woodworking projects.

Probably the nicest woodworking bench I've ever seen. You Sir are a Craftsman for sure!

Nice place, is anybody looking for their Kitchen?

My Woodworking Bench (I have three now, Dogh!) is consider a Roubo style woodworking bench. I purchased the plans from Benchcrafted and fabricated the Bench from solid ash, with Bubingua accents, along with the shelf being made form solid pecan. Finish is Tung Oil. I used Benchcrafted hardware for the Leg Vise and Wagon Vise. The harware for the vises amounts to the lead screw, nut and wheels and you have to fabricate everything else. It was alot of work and took me seven month and one trip to the hospital as I ran a chisel up my left thumb making mortises by hand. I now have a mortise machine. The vises spin freely and are a joy to use. Benchcrafted make excellent hardware and gave good support for my project. I have another similar workbench that I purchased from a fried who retired and moved. Glad you like it. It was alot of fun to build.

To answer other questions. I don't rebuild my engines on this bench unless I put something over it to protect it. And I don't use the Leg Vise to hold mechanical things. It is pretty much dedicated to woody stuff. It is called a spilt top Roubo actually. The center section can be removed or flipped over to give me a smooth surface or a ridge to plane against.

I like to woodwork, although I am not very good at it yet. I also like to build cars and motors. When I get bored or tired of one I can flip flop to the other. Lately, I have been in the vice restoration mode.

My wife let's me inside the house sometimes. So I have to be self sufficient at the Lazy J Garage. I got a fridge (not shown) with beer and some other stronger liquids in it just in case I need to unwind and watch a football game or Hot Rod Show or whatever.

Thank to Everyone for your kind words. I do spend a lot of time in my garage.

It looks like all I do is woodwork ad that is just not the case. Obviously, I need to make a Bench made for performing mechanics. OMG! That means another project! :shocking:

But I am running out of space and need to expand the garage. I am trying to figure out how to do that.

Thanks again.

Sorry but I am having trouble posting pictures as I am not used to this method.

The first that you put in is a website. I'm not sure what you put it under but it should have just been a link like this: http://s1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii551/coolreed/?action=view&current=ReedRoubo8-1.jpg

The secong one was a link to the picture which you could have clicked on the "Image" tag which above looks like an envelope with a stamp and a mountain on front  If you click on that, then you can paste the image properties into the window.

And if you don't mind me posting this....this is a work of art
