Leaking air compressor tank drain valve

My air compressor tank drain valve makes a small hiss, even when it is tightened. I haven't tipped it over yet to take a look, but is this valve replaceable? Is it worth the effort?

Is it good practice to drain the tank after each use? I use it only to air up tires, or occasionally to drive an air ratchet, but never for painting or any use where air contamination would be a huge issue.

Yes, as a general rule they're easily replaceable. About $4 from your local big box store.

No, it's not good practice to drain after each use. You waste electricity and wear out the pump a lot faster.
