I built an 11' x 12'3" lean to with 6x6's on the corners. I would like to put up walls for privacy and security. Would 2x6x12's be strong enough to span the 6x6's so I can put up some t1-11 or composite type siding? I am trying to avoid putting additional posts in the ground. Also trying to keep the cost low and hide my rider, atv and other equipment from prospective looters. Any suggestions? Thanks

With the t1-11 nailed to 3 or 4 you should be ok. 12' is a long span for a 2x6. This is not a permanent solution.

If its only 12' why dont you just frame a wall in between the 6x6 post? 16 or 24" oc.

The ground is not level. I was thinking of running cement blocks around the perimeter of lean to and using the blocks as the base of the t1-11, that way water run off won't affect the walls. Really didn't want to go as far as framing walls. Looking for quick and secure. Thx

How about closing it in with fence pickets. But you would still need another post

I see what you want to do and it will work fine. You just are using them as a nailer for the bottom of the T-111. You might even be able to use 2x4's. They are acting as girts. You might need one at grade and one at midpoint.

I'm in on this I have a 12'x12' lean too over my well I was going to use some 1x12x12 only problem is the front side needs to be easily removeable for pump access.

If you look at my building below you will see 6x6 poles on 12' centers with 2x6 girts. Common practice in this country to have poles on a 12' center. My old building is 20+ years old and this one is going on 5 so I believe you will be OK. Now if your in hurricane country then I would temper my answer.

I think it would be ok.
I would add blocking every 4 ft or you could always add more blocking later. The cement blocks around the bottom is a good idea.

Thanks for all the advice, I think I will try block around the base, 2x4's at the top and bottom of the 8ft tall t1-11 panels and a 2x6 in the center. It's only a privacy fence. I wanted something a little sturdier than picket privacy fence but didn't want to go as far as framing a wall. I could always add a vertical 2x4 in the center on top of the block if needed.
