I just spent the last 20 minutes changing the sandpaper on my 12" disc sander.

Had to peel the grit off, then scrape all the paper off, then clean all the adhesive off.

Definitely one of my least favorite shop task.

What's yours?

3M has a solvent made for that
I use it on my smaller sander

Changing out the solvent in the parts washer. getting all the gunk out is a real PITA. I've been tempted to just chuck it all in the burn pile and go buy another washer.

Try a harbor freight heat gun on that disc sander, life will be easier.

I have a freestanding workbench up against a wall. I HATE cleaning behind it.

I hate putting away my tools...

This. I'm usually totally worn out by the time I complete whatever project I'm working on and I just dump the tools on the bench to deal with later. Then **** gets piled up and the garage becomes a mess and I have to spend a whole day cleaning and reorganizing everything.

Opening the door to take out the trash in the Texas heat , when my ac has been on all day. Cleaning out dust collection/shop vac. Emptying/changing coolant in my bandsaw and CNC is the biggest pain in the ask..

Pathetic most dreaded task in the shop is one created because I'm tired which resulted from a mistake I don't normally make when I'm not tired.

Mopping the floor. Seems like an endless task as the mop bucket water is filthy after a few minutes. And the spots never seem to come up on the first or second pass when it's a mixture of cutting fluid, grease, grinding material and dirt... And I have epoxy on the floors which makes it easier to clean.

Three things will equally put me in a bad mood and make me dread going out there:

1. Fixing something I broke through my own stupidity.

2. Fixing something that is far more difficult than it should be like a blend door actuator on a Ford or the fuel line on my tractor.

3. Fixing something that broke because it was designed by idiots or made with crappy parts.

It all comes down to idiots and things breaking!

In one of the shops at work, they mix up degreaser and warm water in a pump sprayer and spray the floor, soaking the dirty spots. Then they hit the worst spots with a long-handled brush and finally they mop. Don't know if it saves time, but it sure looks like the mopping goes easier.

My version at home might be to spray and then drink a beer to let it soak, then mop.

Power buffing is about the most miserable task. It can be dangerous and gets you and the shop filthy.

Putting away stuff after months of putting it off, which means two basic things: First, I need a tool or part or piece of hardware and cannot find it no matter how much I cuss and dig through the mess, and, second, I eventually have to force myself to take a couple days and do a major clean-up re-org put-away session. Each time I SWEAR I will, from then on, NEVER let it get that way again. I am good for about a few weeks. I think that tools crawl around, screws and bolts hide, cut-off pieces of wood and metal gang up, etc. just to mess with me. When I find myself climbing over piles or shoving them aside with my boot just to get to the vise and be a able to stand on a level little spot on the floor, well.....

Yeah I'm not fond of cleaning my garage either, funny though when I had my tools at work I was OCD about keeping clean, I guess getting paid for the last hour of work to clean makes a little difference.

I'll ditto the above.. Somehow, I put a tool down and a few minutes later I need it and look all over for it... until I find it in the last place I put it. Typically happens when I have multiple steps of a project all over the shop, tools everywhere.. Tape measures are the typical offender, as are pencils... Sometimes I could swear they grow legs and reposition themselves for their entertainment...
