I am looking for a leather tool bag but I notice most cater to electricians. Would these also make decent general maintenance bags?

I suppose it all depends how many/what kinds of tools you need to carry.
Take a look at Occidental Leather Products, they make some nice stuff.

I have one that I used back in the 1980s as a factory rep for an electronics company. It could be filled with different tools but there are limitations. I haven't found another since.

The only real benefit to it was that it gave customers confidence that I knew what I was doing in the medical field of electronics, at least that was the intent I'm sure. It originally belonged to the company. So for practicality, a canvas bag would work as well. I recent bought a couple of Xcelite's bags.

I like that xcelite bag. I also like a shoulder strap. I have found the Husky tool bags to be better than most out there
