Get one for the girl friend oops.......wife.

That way she has something to hand you when you need to fix broken chit?

I got mine the 10in1 Milwaukee driver and she still prefers a butter knife; the housewives original multi tool .

That is kind of like her buying me some laundry soap though.

I read a review of that when it first came out .. reviewer wasn't impressed. Apparently it's very soft metal, the screwdrivers were useless.

I think that if you were to call the screwdrivers useless, it would be because of the impossibly short handles, or the fact that they're so wide they won't fit in much, or the weird down angle they have to keep them from snagging.

I'm not sure how you'd manage to damage the screwdriver without holding the link in vise-grips, as you can only really hold them with fingertip pressure.

The links are an unusual cast stainless, but it seems that Leatherman did a nice job on the casting. However, I can also see how any cast stainless would be soft for tool use, but again, it's not like you can apply any real torque to these.

Looks very gimmicky to me, and for $165(!) I'll definitely pass...

95% of the time I have real tools very close by that will do a much better job than a "tactical" bracelet. About the only place I am without real tools is on a commercial airliner @ 40k feet. Good luck getting that through security... And If there's an emergency and we're going down, that thing ain't gonna do much

I have had one for over a year now. I wear it almost every work day. Once you get used to it on your wrist you can forget its there. It's also a great conversation starter. I probably use it once every other day just for removing a access or inspection panel on equipment. Beats carrying a handful of tools for a quick job.

$165!?!? Not a chance. I'd rather spend that on the 1/2" drive Snap-On ratchet I've been looking at and spend the change on a case of beer.

If it fits your style, I don't see why it wouldn't be a fine addition to your carried tool kit. I mean, it makes much more sense than those bike chain bracelets.

These are always on me:

Swiss-Tech Microtool:

Swiss-Tech Utilikey:

Victorinox Swiss Card:

Hmm... That's a shockingly Swiss list. Regardless, these three things are used very frequently for tasks from simple to complex. They don't get in my way at all. Neither would that bracelet.

Anything that attaches to you in a fashion that in no way interferes with your mobility or comfort is great. Multi-tools just aren't something you want to wear on your belt all the time. It's nice to have all those things built into such tiny packages.

I keep a multi-tool around, even if it's just in the car most of the time; a Gerber sliding pliers unit. Always liked that, but I wish the cutting faces of the jaws were hardened.

I love multi and gimmick tools.

I have quite a few too. But really only the folding pliers type stuff is really useful at the 'executive mechanic' level.
I was there for a bit myself, but when I got back into wrenching they proved kind of worthless.

I never tried the bracelet idea but its brilliant. Man jewelry with a function for the prepared cubicle dweller.

I have had one for about a year I got 20% off on mine so the price was not horrible. My EDC is a leatherman surge when I am not at school. That being said if I just need to tighten up a screw or cut a string, as you can apply a surprising amount of torque using the rest of the bracket as a handle. Honestly the tread works great especially if it is all you have. I will also mention that the weight is not terrible especially after you take out several links which you will have to unless you have gorilla wrists.
