Leatherman Super Tool 300 all the way. My Leatherman Core broke, I sent it in to Leatherman (25 year warranty) and they replaced it with the latest model.
I got a custom made leather sheath to hold it, the nylon ones just did not hold up.

I had a Wave for years. I left it somewhere around Öskjuvatn lake in Iceland. I guess I'll go back when my kid is old enough to help me look and get it back. :dunno:

I recently bought a Kraftwerk multitool through the tool guys at work just to have in my pocket at work. Its 1/3 the cost of a wave and about 1/3 the quality as well.

I used to carry my Wave in my pocket next to my phone where ever I went. I felt kinda naked without it at first, but got used to just having a folding blade.

I'l definitely get another Wave.

thats great if you are by your toolbox all the time.

I can't say as I agree with you. With me it's proximity and ease of access. If I'm in the garage and near the toolbox I tend to grab the "proper" tool (I seldom lock it). If I'm working out of the truck I tend to grab the multi-tool just because I have to unlock the tool box on the truck. Of course if I'm near neither all i have is the multi-tool.

BTW: I usually carry a Gerber Legendary. Gerber even replaced it wen the bolt came out that holds the tools in for free.
