Led and Incad. on Same Light Switch

Going to try it just for the helluva it, but what happens if you put a LED bulb on the same circuit as a Incandescent ?

Bad analogy, but I've replace shorted bulbs on the same circuit, and literally what seems like within a day or two, ( a good bulb on the same circuit) ends up going bad, needing to be replaced -- whereas many days prior with the shorted bulb dead in socket, the good bulb was working just fine.

I think you'll be fine as long as they don't share a dimmer switch.

As long as you don't amp overload the circuit no worries / issues.

Incandescent bulbs have a significant amp draw.

Shouldn't have any issues...

In fact especially with older LEDs and older dimmer switches, many people recommended putting an incandescent bulb on the same dimmer as LEDs which made the LEDs dim more smoothly.

it will work fine. If you have cheap LED bulbs that tend to flicker, an incandescent will actually act as a filter and stop the flickering if on the same circuit.

Ah, I forgot about the good old icad. load on the circuit trick.

Actually most of locations being discussed with Highhats are all on dimmers. Hardly if not nil/never used on dimm settings.

Anyhow, what would you say would be the root cause of the following scenario as well
ICAD bulb blew out. Left alone.
Other bulb in series working fine for a week.

Replaced blown bulb.
Literally 24-48 hrs later - the good bulb goes bad

If you think about it, there is only one circuit that feeds your house. So all your loads are on one circuit. The breaker box does nothing to isolate things electrically.

I love smack-forehead-with-palm observations like this! There is also a lot of distortion from your neighbors large loads starting and stopping.

Well if the lights are on 120v, then there are 2 possible circuits. 2 seperate hots that use a common neutral if were getting picky.....

Not sure how it makes sense to put super effecient lights on the wire and then add a greedy one. One reason to do different wires is to be able to isolate loads.
