My neighbor got be to replace a dusk to dawn led fixture for her. She said it just "stopped working".
Anyway, I brought the old one home, thinking maybe, if I take the photoeye out of the picture, it might light up, which it did, but not all of the leds lit up, and the rest were dim. The fixture has 2 housings, with both sets of leds acting the same
As seen below, it's a 12 led board. The board is easy enough to remove, with the wires plugging on to it.
Does anyone have a good source for these boards? Thanks20240518_150613.jpg20240518_150902.jpg

I'll try and fix most anything, but not that.
I've installed dusk to dawn units but I wouldn't try to fix one. Finding the right part would be a mess.

I've also installed a dusk to dawn sensor for a light fixture I didn't want to change and I have an LED bulb in it.

There are numerous way to get a dusk to dawn light up for your neighbor. Replacing that board and sensor would likely cost more than a brand new unit from Home Depot.

I'm not going to use it for dusk to dawn. I'm just going to put black tape over the opening, mount it in my shipping container, and put it on a switch.
If I can find a couple of cheap LED boards, that's what I'm planning on doing.
I'm going to call LED Supply during the weekdays and see if they can send me what I need. The fixture is all die cast. Lowes still sells it for $55, so I hate like hell throwing it away because of a little nickel and dime LED board.

I thought you were trying to make it back to dusk to dawn LED.

What about wiring it up with an Edison screw and installing an LED bulb if you can't source the boards?

No, I'm sorry, I put up a new one for her. Just trying to refurb this one for myself. The housing isn't big enough for an Edison base. If I was going that route, I'd just use a keyless.
If I can't find a couple of cheap led boards, I'll just pitch it. The driver has always been dry, nothing burned, and output is fine.

Nah, it's going to be plug and play or nothing 😆

Throw it in the trash and buy a new light.

This thing was likely made in China by the 10,000s and isn't meant to be a service item. If lowes doesn't have a parts list then no one else is going to carry a random led driver/board that fits this light.

Not sure if you realize it or not, but you cant really just take any random driver and connect it to any random LED array and expect it to work. The drivers put out a specific drive current that might not align with the diodes on the random board you find and conversely, the diodes require a specific current and voltage that the existing drivers might not align with. You might get the board to light up, but you'll never know if it's at full brightness, or if you're over-driving the diodes and killing them. It's seriously not worth the effort.
Good luck,
CD

I've got a phone number for the fixture company and the model # of the fixture, so I'm calling them tomorrow. If it turns out to be a proprietary board, and they won't send me a couple of them, I'm going to call it quits. Thanks

If it all fails, here is a die-cast Secuity light. It is metal not plastic. I have it in my back yard, it is bright. For $35, this is a great deal.
