LED bulb for bathroom vent/light/heater

I’d like to replace the bulb in our bathroom vent fan/heat fan/light with an LED bulb. The bulb is for lighting only - the heat function has its own fan and heating coils.

seems like most LED bulbs have a rubbery coating. Will this melt when we turn the heat on after a winter shower? The heat will not blow directly on the bulb.

Sounds risky.
Your bathroom light is on for what…maybe an hour per day? If you replace a 60 watt incandescent bulb with a 5 watt LED bulb, you’ll save 55 watt hours per day.
Thats one kilowatt hour every 18 days.
Let’s say your rate is 18 cents per Kw/hr to make the math easy. That’s a penny per day you’d save on electricity.
If the bulb melts or the electronic led driver gets overheated, you’d lose a bulb and maybe make a difficult repair job out of it.

Is there more to it than saving money on electricity?

I don't know if my ex fan/heat/light/night light is the same as yours, but I have led lamps in mine. I wouldn't worry about it.

All my bathroom lights are LED, I had the heat lamp removed.

Most glass globe LED bulbs are coated in silicone as the frosting or diffuser.
Question; is the fan housing plastic? Most are so that would be an indication of the heat made. If it doesn't melt plastic it definitely will not melt silicone.

BTW, I have a plastic LED bulb in the bathroom ceiling mounted heater/light/exhaust fan. No issues in 4 years. I also removed and painted the fan diffuser grill with Krylon Fusion paint and its white after4 years.

The fan and light grill is likely plastic ……it’s not melting, so suspect the bulb is NOT a subject to heat.

Yup - there is a plastic cover against the ceiling. Looks like I am ok to switch to LED...
