THANK YOU!!!!

I recently bought a Dozen of these bulbs from the Robotics Class at the high school where my wife works (Fund Raiser). They are manufactured by LSG Lighting Science Group and marketed as First Green e-Watt Saver.

I suspected that one of the bulbs was running too hot as it was smelling "electrical" (which is generally not a good thing - duh) So I removed it from the lamp it was in and placed it in the garage light fixture. Now I will pull that out and check the date codes and am willing to bet that it falls into that range.

Thanks, I think I have one of these I've been testing in our bathroom.

The LEDs don't get very hot, but the power electronics in the bulb's base have to get rid of the extra energy when it drops the voltage from 120V and rectifies to DC. That's generally done through heat dissipation (hence the large heat sink on those bulbs.
