Anyone know where to buy a cheap, good LED lightbulb? I need 18 of them to fill a sputnik ceiling light fixture and don't want to pay 400 bucks to do so.
Might as well get them right from Asia: http://www.dealextreme.com/. Search for E27 led, or whatever size you're looking for. Shipping is free, but it can take a few weeks to arrive.
Philips model 415018 as sold by The Home Depot is the most attractive Candelabra LED bulb I've seen so far, but I haven't seen one in operation yet, and at $16 each I can't justify buying them to test them yet.
Lowes has a Utilitech LED C35CA-WW that's also attractive, but is still $12...
I really wish that they'd put the bulbs into a light-up display...
Just bought some at Home Depot. $11 each. They work very well. Also bought some at Target for about the same price. The issue will be finding 18 at either of these two stores. I bought all 3 at Target, and 3 more at HD, only leaving a couple on the shelf. Doesn't look like something they stock in bulk. Might just be my local stores.
Whatever you decide to do, but one and try it out first. There are a lot of garbage LED "replacements" out there and some of them have absolutely awful color temp and color rendering.
