LED conversion riddle. Or, why no work?

I'm converting a bunch of recessed lighting to LED. So far so good until the very last can.
The fixture is a solo can over the sink with a single non dimming switch.
Incandescent bulb works. LED conversion does not work. Bulb socket shows 123v, switch shows 123v, turning on the LED doesn't trip any breakers.
Swapped LED with a known working can and it works fine and the known working LED won't work in the problem can. It has to be the can but the can works with the existing incandescent.
I'm stumped. Any ideas where to look?

Probably not going into the socket far enough or something along those lines.

Try using a screw driver to bend the little tab at the back of the socket down. Be careful, don't bend it too far and make sure the switch is off... I have experience in both failures.

Hmm, both got me thinking. Yes the tab at the bottom of the socket was mashed pretty good, but no different than the other 35 fixtures I retrofitted. I'll pry it up a bit to see if that makes a difference. The male of the bulb definitely "penetrates" deeper than the LED male.
I'll report back.

Fixed!!!!! Prying the tab up didn't work. There was a lot of overspray in the socket so I spent some time with sandpaper and Scotch brite to clean it up. Also put a dab of dielectric grease around the socket. Well son of a b.....
It works, thanks for kicking my brain in gear with the obvious. Weird that it was the last fixture out of 35.
Thanks.
