Led flicker fix

Hi all, I bought 12 Barrina T5 LED lights. They’ve always had a rapid flicker when I use a heat gun. I can live with that since I don’t use the heat gun much.

Now I’ve moved to a new house (built 1955, previous house slightly older). The leds are pulsing. Approximately once a second, the lights briefly sim and then become bright again.

I tried reducing down to just one light and found the flickering still occurs.

I’m thinking maybe this house’s wiring has an issue. I haven’t tried diagnosing the input voltage as a potential problem. I did notice some lights in the house flicker when I slam a door, so there might be some loose wires.

Is there anything I can buy to prevent the existing LEDs from flickering? I’m wondering if a voltage regulator/line conditioner might help.

Or does anyone know of garage lights that don’t perceptibly flicker (a person can’t see it flickering even if the led does turn off and on rapidly)? Bonus points if the lights are truly flicker free (even a video camera wouldn’t see flickering).

It might be combination of cheaper tubes and electrical wiring issues at your garage. I would double check and see if any loose wiring all the way to the breaker and test if there is any significant voltage drops when the heat gun is turned on that cause the flicker. My old hypercon that is bankrupted doesn’t do that. But it’s in its own breaker and ballast bypass installation.

Flicker all the time when on or just occasionally when on?

Any chance you have a modern inverter motor washer machine? The type that changes direction?
About 6 months ago I tried to address a LED light flicker issue in a customers house. The lighting circuits that were on the same bus as the washer flickered every time the washer was agitating. We moved some lighting circuits to the other bus but could not divorce all of them.

I have had other houses where the bathroom fart fans made LED's flicker.

:dunno:
