I am building a 60x40x12 for mixed use with a lift.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions for LED lighting?

Thanks

Searching a threel-letter keyword can be tricky. Here's a workaround: go to Google, and enter in:

site:garagejournal.com LED lighting

Thanks Jack

You're right, I was getting anything starting with or ending with "led"

I had an industrial project recently where we used this LED fixture: http://www.rabweb.com/productLine.php?productLine=CLED2X13 They worked out well, and put out a nice even light. They'll last for years and years as well, but they're around $300/each.

For the long term (combining longevity and energy savings) they aren't a bad choice but the initial cost of LED fixtures in general is still pretty high. You'll have to figure out if they fit your budget.

LED lighting is still in it's infancy, expensive & no one can prove their claims for long life.

Totally with you on this. Many of the products list a 25,000 hour life, which is not impressive at all when you consider the purchase cost.

OTOH, I replaced a bunch of CFLs at work with LED PAR30s at 35 bucks a pop, and the improvement in color and quality of the light is worth the price, even if they don't work out to last forever.
