I think I need four 4ft led light fixtures for my garage/shop. I like Home Depot for convenience and have had good service. The problem is that on their website there are multiple manufacturers of these things and I can’t tell the quality from the descriptions. I like the ones you can daisy chain with build in cords and individual on/off pulls. I would also prefer USA made. Any suggestions?

I just purchased the ones from HF and they are super bright. They are NOT designed to be daisy chained together. They do, however, have a pull on/off chain. Plus, the price was right fo $19 each.

Just a thought.

The LED shop lights that you describe are all made overseas. They are low priced with quality to match. But you can get acceptable light and be all in for under a hundred bucks for 4. I have had no trouble with the few Costco FEIT brand 4 foot 2 tube LED fixtures I’ve hung. Others have had early failures. FEIT seems to be better than it used to be but still not high quality.

Check out the stickies at the top for advice.

I used to say I wouldn't sell Feit to an enemy, but a lot of users here have reported good things.

I still prefer the LOA units from BJ's. Higher output, slightly higher color temp and better CRI.

None of that cheap **** with a cord and pullchain are made here. They are made by whoever will build them for the absolute bottom dollar. Country of origin and build quality are barely a concern.

If you want better fixtures check out the stickies. They still aren't going to be made here but are much better than the shoplight junk.

In the last two years, I've bought 14 of those Sams Club/Honeywell 4' shop lights. Since then, two of them have gone TU; i.e. +14% failure rate.

One was one 24/7 as a shop night light; the other was only on when the shop lights were turned on.

I won't be buying any more.

I put in CREE LS4-40L-40K a couple years ago. Got a few from CED used them in a smaller garage application. Light quality is stunning and better than anything inside my house. They put out gorgeous light. Also empty your wallet but the light quality is worth it.

Tapped into existing wall swith I replaced with a motion-activated

I got about 20 of them, most been up about 2 1/2 years. So far so good, hope they hold up.

dfndr - I bought these last week for my garage, ten of them. They're stocked at home depot. Integrated LED (no bulb, just strips) so when they go bad you replace the whole thing. Not the most expensive but for 4,000 lumens and available in a short trip to the store they fit the bill. First impressions, they are smaller than I thought, the housing could be better...also could be much worse.

I've had 4 of those up for a couple of years now, used every day. No complaints for the price.

I got a couple of the Feit's from Costco. They've been fine for the past couple years. Don't forget, Costco has a very generous return policy. They say "100% satisfaction guarantee" and most items (except major electronics items) do not have a time limit.

I have a bunch of the Costco LED, 4 foot, 2 bulb fixtures in my basement and garage and they work great. Got a couple of the early ones (without pull chain) for $30 and the rest (with pull chain) on sale for $20. If I needed more I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

I had 6 of the Fein lights from Costco in my barn at the last house. Never had a problem and it was an easy install. I like that they link to each other.

Just bought 10 more for the new house. On sale for $18 each!
