LED Lights in a closet

OK, this may be too technical for this forum, but what the heck:

I'd like to add some LED strips to my closets; maybe like superbrightleds.com #LBFA-CW24, and wire the appropriate power supply from a standard electrical box. Easiest for me will be to pull from an outlet on the other side of the wall and just put in an old work box.

Control would be either a standard AC door-jamb switch (like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner...sh-Button-Door-Switch-1-Pack-GSW-SK/100180864 ), or use a low-voltage magnetic reed switch (like this, from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009SUF08/?tag=atomicindus08-20) wired to the output of the power supply, to the lights.

What considerations should I have for the power supply, considereing that it will be mounted inside a coat closet? I'd hate like hell for a power supply to fail & start a fire inside the closet. Is there a rating for power supplies that would indicate they might be safe for this?

If I get a power supply with a standard 110 plug, either 2 or 3 prong, I'll put an outlet box inside the closet. If it's a hardwire power supply can I just wire-nut the leads to the AC supply?

I think I'd prefer to mount the power supply to the wall, rather than let it sit on the floor, potentially getting covered up.

Thoughts? Or am I making a suicide machine?

I'd just use an under cabinet light. They're low profile and you don't have to deal with the hassle of finding a good spot for the driver.

Our closets have ceiling cans in them. In the Spring they're coming out and I'll replace them with LED fixtures. The ones I've seen, Lowe's & Home Depot, wire in just like another can (shallower, obviously) I have not seen any provision for a remote driver for them.

If you haven't already bought lights, I would take a look at the integrated LED light fixtures that have everything in one unit.

For example, you can buy a can light replacement that has the complete light itself, with trim (light is about 2" thick), and the metal junction box (2"x3"?) connected to it with a pigtail. You just cut the round hole in the drywall and pull your AC power wire to the area above it. Make the power connection in the metal box and stuff it up into the ceiling. Then pop the light fixture into the hole cut in the drywall. There is no light housing and it only requires about 2" of space above the cutout. The ones I used were similar to this one, but a different brand. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Globe-D...e-Integrated-LED-Recessed-Kit-91106/304944311

I used round LED fixtures from HD in my closets similar to this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton...nt-with-Frosted-Glass-Shade-4732-WH/203744905, but with a little flatter globe. They are very bright, and put out no heat at all.

If you are close to an IKEA place they have what you need.
A strip LED light approx 1*1/4 " and abt 30 " long. Runs off a wall wart (supplied ) Has a built in auto switch on function. Monitors ambient and if it goes up the strip turns on. And cheap!
