So my new garage will be vynal sided soon and I want to have recessed lights above garage door in eyebrow. Also a few on sides of building in soffit. The soffits will be vynal . Do I need to figure and put cans in now which I think would be difficult to cut around after or do I installed after soffit install? Builder is telling me put cans in now but I don't think he is to sure on that advice. I will also need advice on lighting inside garage. It is 36x40x12. Thanks in advance for advice. Install the fixture housings where you want them make sure the position of the housing will locate the trim ring in the correct relationship to the sofit covering. The siding installer will cut a hole for the fixture, when he is finished you just have to pop the trim ring in place.
Pull all the wires and terminate them at the fixture before the soffit covering is installed.
I would invest in LED fixtures.

I put them in the soffit on the front of the house and it was done before they put the new aluminum soffit up. I like them a lot and I can dim them.

Good point on the bugs. And I certainly have bugs here. But I really like the look

Yeah - I'm wishing I had done a post lamp ~6' away from the garage door or so. Don't have to scrape dead bugs off the walls every month or so.

I'd go with a 4" par20. Get a LED bulb, bugs are attracted to UV light - very little comes from the LED bulb so you will have very little bugs.

I have a well lit property, all led. I have no trouble with bugs and have lots.
