Have some old but nice rapid start fixtures in the 2nd garage I want to swap over to LED tubes. What do I need to do?

Its currently got some F40CWT12's in it. Can I use T8s?

Fair. I'm planning to just swap led tubes into mine. Haven't looked into the ballasts yet though.

Thanks. They looked similar, wasn't sure if I'd have any issues downsizing.

I just bought some Type A tubes to try out. Do I even need to mess with the ballast?

Most type A will only work with an instant start T8 ballast

All type A need a ballast.

If you read the packaging or spec sheet they will tell you what ballasts they can be used with

I have some from the late 40's. I would say yours is slightly older.
