Do you have any opinions on these? The link is from Costco Online and shows a 4-pack. They have 2-packs from the same manufacturer inside the local club for $16, or $8 per bulb.

You have to be sure that they are compatible with the ballasts that are in the fixtures that you have. Since they dont provide a list of compatible ballasts like a legitimate lighting manufacturer does, I'd be pretty leery of buying these.
Chances are if your ballasts are T8 electronic Instant Start, these will work. If your ballasts are anything else, I'd pass.

Little pricey if you ask me but I have no experience with them.

I've been buying Sylvania ten packs at Menard's for $55-60. Those I have had decent luck with.

I've just bought the led light sets instead. My local Costco had the set with 2 bulbs for $19 each. I've hung 3 in the garage so far and am figuring out where I want to hang more and if I want to pick a few more up. I like them quite a bit more than fluorescent as they don't flicker, especially when cold, and they have no balast that can buzz.

Got a link to those ?

Sure don’t but there are tons of posts about them in the Lowe’s clearance thread. I’d suggest hitting up all of your Lowe’s stores though as many of the clearance items aren’t showing up online. Oh, and many times the actual price is half the marked price. Many things are going for 75% off.

Lowe’s was did have LED drop in bulbs for $1.25 each on clearance. Think they realized they made a mistake and they were back to the original price. Now appear to be discontinued?

FEIT bulbs Mentioned in the OP work will but they are pricey. When compared to the Sylvania drop in LED bulbs sold at Menards the FEIT at Costco actually Work in more fixtures from a compatibility view point. The FEIT bulbs can also be found at Menards, Home Depot and other locations. Price varies but generally more expensive than other choices.

The Lowe’s clearance bulbs were utilitech and were 4 for $5

I'll pass on visiting those threads.

Those Sylvanias are the ones that I have have good luck with in the garage and enclosed trailer. I just put a few in a friends garage after running a service out there for a surprise B-day gift.

I'm still waiting for the LED replacements to have the same output as my old 40W 4' T12s...

Tommy

The Utilitech drop in bulbs performed well compared to T8 when installed and actually measure the LUX on the work surface. These were the $1.25 bulbs:

Sylvania T8 3 years old unknown hours measured LUX values at fixture to bench distance 48”:
T8. 434 LUX
LED 537 LUX

23.7327% increase

No attempt to measure beam angle or LUX at other angles other than general bench top below the fixture.

122.8 volts
T8 amp draw .73
LED amp draw .54

26.0274% decrease

Prior post showed the FEIT drop in bulbs in the OP were tested and had similar improvement in light ( LUX to the work surface) while have a decrease in power consumed.

I also use the the FEIT drop in a T12 fixture they worked .......where other drop in g brands did function in the T12 fixture.
