I am looking for an LED fixture for a customer who is also a good friend of mine. I need an LED outdoor fixture that will work mounted about 16-18 feet up.
He has been using a couple of small halogen fixtures and likes the light and instant on but the lamps just don't last and they use a good amount of electricity.
Quality LED fixtures aren't cheap so I'm hoping some of you have found something that works that won't break the bank?

TIA
Mark

Nice site, thanks. Anything you have personally used?

I have purchased from econolight and ruud (their affiliate company) many times over the past 15 years or so.

Both companies are located in Wisconsin, and I have always been completely satisfied with quality of product, customer service, and speed of delivery.

I have ordered everything from a truckload of commercial metal halide lighting, to an electronic low voltage can light.

To date, I have not ordered anything in an LED from them, but I plan to order some exterior floods within the next week or so.

I have a catalog from them, when you order try promo code SPRING15 for 15% off all LED products. Expires 4/17/2016.

If you are in the States.....Home Depot has some Lithonia brand lights on their site that would work well. Lithonia make's a good product.

The City of Detroit has been installing a lot of LED street lights. Some people claim they like the old style better because they spreed the light further out. I noticed similar results on a road near my house. Pools of good light and then a large area of darkness.

This really has nothing to do with the light source and EVERYTHING to do with the reflector.
