LED work lights?

Do they make an LED replacement? I've never seen one. The halogens are long skinny jobs.

$8.95 is pretty cheap way to convert a heat generator.


It was for a motion sensor halogen fixture on the corner of the house, but this bulb was too big, and didn't find out til too far past the return date. One day I had a binding lash of flight & looked at the 120VAC halogen worklight. IT FIT!!

That's only equivalent to a 50W halogen. Mine uses 500 watt bulbs.

You would be better off to just replace the entire lamp and move on for a 500 watt halogen work light.

Our local wholesaler had RAB X34 floodlight fixtures on a special efficiency rebate program. Basically $100 fixture with $100 rebate, all you paid was the sales tax. So I got a bunch of them for $6 apiece, it's the 6450 lumens model, 5000K, 64 watts. Replaces a 250W metal halide fixture. They are nominally outdoor floodlights but can be used indoors. I rigged up portable and height-adjustable stands out of 1" SCH40 PVC conduit, so my total cost is about $20 each including the light and the PVC fittings. It's a one-time deal for me, but they are being used to replace 500W halogen worklights and they are much brighter. I also have the Ryobi LED cordless worklight, which I think is 2400 lumens, it's now expensive for the output ($69) with all the other options available out there.

I also been down this road, need a couple more at 40 a piece. I used to collect and hoard the other bulbs but they finally run out and so much work. How much is a conversion?

I just picked up one of these tripod stand LED work lights from TSC. Claim 14,000 lumen. They are bright, but not sure that bright. Clearance with extra 25% off coupon today and tomorrow it came to 37.50. unfortunately, one of the light brackets was bent due to the box being crushed, but both lights work. I left them going to see how hot they get. Every time I use my old work ligjts there is a 100% chance of burning myself.

I got sick of my old old halogen light frying bulbs left and right. I decided it was time to spend a little money and finally purchase a dual head LED work light tripod. A few places sold this unit a little cheaper but I was already placing an order for a few rooms worth of renovation supplies so i attached these to my HD order to get my 0%

I'm quite impressed. As I was working to rewire my entire garage for wall outlets as well as 16 4ft LED fixtures I was running only one of these work lights. I didn't even break out the 2nd one. I'm a fan of them.

I used Bosch FL12 LED Cordless Work Light. According to my experience, it is the best LED work light.

If You are using an old Halogen stand. I mounted one and its much whiter light and seems a lot brighter than 1000W Halogen (2 500W at same time). I use these in portable stands to light up the shop front (40' wide). They have blown over in storms several times and work fine. Probably have over 2000 Hrs.
