LED worklights

I've done some searching but haven't come up with what I'm looking for. I want one or two GOOD LED worklights. Something handheld or with a magnet that I can use when under a car on my lift. I'd like the magnetic part so I can stick it to the lift or the car. What do you guys have or have used that you can recommend?

I use 3 Duallites part # 64305.

NiMH with battery and charger
26 LED flood and 9 LED end focus light.

These are used daily and professionally for vehi8cle interior work but do see underhood time and household use.

I bought them over teh years from my Snap-On driver.
Dualite has a nice rotating hook but no magnet and for a reason..

In keeping with that , I would not suggest a magnet for use on painted metal surfaces as they will scratch the paint. If you duct tape to protect the magent, you reduce magnetic force.

And I you used a raw magnetic tool on the painted underside of my hood or fenders on any of my cars, that would be my last day of you ever touching one of my cars again. To boot most cars use underhood blankets so no place to mount to anyway.

There are better solutions out there.

I use these from harbor freight.The are magnetic and have a hook on them.24 leds and put out quite a bit of light.Best of all they are only 2.99 a pc.They take 3 AAA batteries.They are really nice for tight spots.I use springs clamps to use them on my creeper.

The batteries they come with don't last long but with good batteries they will shine for a long time.

BlueChevy, I was just looking at those at HF today but shied away from them due to price and the store I was in. I was afraid they would be horrible. I guess I'll go pick up a few of them.

They are pretty durable.I have dropped them many times and haven't broke one yet.The screws in the back that holds the battery cover on have brass inserts.

The HF lights are spotty for the glue holding the magnet in. Two of the five I bought needed the magnets glued back in.

The little blue HF lights are the same as the ones MAC sells. My buddy gave me one and after about 3 months I left it stuck to the bottom of a car at work. Sadface.

How much was that MAC light you ask? 16$after tax. Go get em at HF.

I have two of the Streamlight Knuckleheads, awesome lights. Has a very strong magnet and built in swivel hook. The head can articulate 360 degrees too.

I won this Craftsman worklight in a raffle and it works great. Rechargeable, hook, magnetic or handheld, has a flashlight on the end, and is bright.

Are there and LED lights that can put out the equivalent of a 500W halogen? I'd love to have something that cold allow me to work at night, without all the heat a halogen generates.

Why not get a Headlamp if you're going to spend tremendous time on servicing cars?

It may seem Goofy looking but it gets the job done.

After having a few American made headlamps that wasn't bright enough for me, I went on ebay an purchased a CREE Headlamp T6 LED. It runs on one 18650 Rechargeable battery. It has High, Low, Medium and Strobe setting as well. On High, you get 1 hour of super bright light. When I say super bright, it's brighter than the StreamLight Stinger C4 LED flashlights that Snap On, Matco, Cornwell, Mac Tools sells.

I have 3 sets of it, which means 3 Battery Chargers and 6 18650 Batteries always on Charge.

If you can bare with it being made oversea, you won't be disappointed upon using it.

I use the Energizer 4-LED headlamp that you can get right in Wal Mart. It's compact, more than bright enough, it's always shining right where I'm looking, and it never winds up shining in my eyes. To me it's the perfect drop light. I never drag a drop light under a car with me anymore.

Yeah, especially on a glancing thing like looking down the front accessories on a FWD. I really like wearing my Petzl headlamp and sticking that Ullman wherever. Then pull stuff apart with my Milwaukee cordless ratchet with an LED or an impact driver.

I actually put a roof on a shed at night a month ago and I was sorta marveling at how easy life is these days...light on my head, light in my hand, super easy impact driver to run the screws in.

+1 for the blue HF LED light. For the price, it is well thought out.

I also like this "Commercial Electric" brand, rechargeable, LED light. It comes with both a home charger and a vehicle charger. It puts out a lot of light and it lasts quite a while. I originally bought mine at Costco, but they are currently available at Home Depot, in the $20 range.

I like the little one-battery LED headlamps you buy in multi-packs, when you need light where you are looking and your hands are full.

I bought two of the HF ones and I'm going to get one bigger one kinda like Machine punk posted.
I have 2 headlamps but like stated sometimes you need the light coming from a different angle plus sometimes when under my lift I need the light for an area and not a specific view.
This is all just for a hobbiest I don't make my living working on cars, I spend my living working on them.
