Picked up these Left Hand bits yesterday for 47 cents each. You can see the phone number. They had "big" boxes of these. If you need some LH Bits on the cheap, Give them a call.

The two bright bits on the far right are standard twist metric.

How is the quality of these drills? Have you given them a test run? Might you be able to pick some of these up for us and ship them to us if we pay you in advance? thanks Junk...

The majority of these LH bits were labeled "Irwin" made in Brazil. There was only one size that was USA made and it was a Chicago-Latrobe. The sizes were all real odd ball stuff with the biggest 1/2". They all have split points and thinned webs. Have not given them a try.

They are all probably rejects for some reason or another. The smallest bits (of which Elroy picked multiples) were 1/8". Elroy could really care less if they produce on size holes as these will be used solely for "removal purposes"

Elroy will dig them back out of the tool box later this evening and list the sizes. No need for payment in advance. Elroy is confident you're good for it. If you want some speak up NOW. They're open tomorrow (Friday 12-26) and that will be the ONLY time Elroy will have a chance to revisit their facility. You might actually be better off contacting them direct, but Elroy is willing to procure on your behalf. Speak. :wtf:

I have trust in your selection, so, if it isn't too much trouble, please just duplicate what you have selected for yourself. I would contact them myself, but usually these type of placed are not set up for shipping. If it isn't out of your way, please pick these up for me, and I will send you the $$ including shipping. No rush on the shipping, so just PM me with a total and I will have a check into the mail immediately, or if you have a Pay Pal account, I can send the money, including the PayPal fee to you directly.... Thanks Junk...

Junk, Elroy would be pleased to pay "Southern" a second visit on your behalf and will advise you of his substantial mark up for his services.

WHAT

Calm down, Just kidding.

Elroy would be glad to do it as he needs a few more things for a current project. Check the board later this evening for sizes available. PM me your address and we'll discuss the best shipping route.

Elroy doesn't desire to make any more than one trip to this vendor as it's a good 20 miles over to this shop. If any one else wants some of these 47 cent bits, Speak Up TONIGHT or keep your peace.

Nice get and nice offer!
Vicegrip would also like a similar selection of LH bits if it is not too late and not an imposition. Vicegrip is good for the cost as well as shipping, handling and beer for the shipper fee.

OK Here we go.

These are the ONLY sizes available

1/2" Irwin / Brazil
31/64" Irwin / Brazil
15/32" HSS / USA *origin correction*
13/32" USA
23/64" USA
5/16" Irwin / Brazil
19/64" C-L No Origin
17/64" Irwin / Brazil
11/64" Irwin / Brazil
1/8" stubby

The defect appears to be "under size". The 1/8" Stubbies are especially crappy in all respects. They are however marked "USA".

Elroy doesn't really want to be the middleman here but it is the Christmas season. So far Elroy has requests for (3) sets. Please advise exactly which sizes you desire. No response yields (1) of each.

I'll be the big spender and go for 2 of each except for the very small sizes.. Probably 3 of each of them, since they are most likely to be the ones to break. Use your judgement...... I am sure that you will make the right assortment. thanks Junk...

richard would appreciate elroy being a middleman and procuring some LHBs.

2 of each size but raise him with a 4 of the 1/8" stubbies.

If they have more metric drills, I'll take 2 of each as well - as long as they're .47 cents, you pretty much can't go wrong, can ya? Up to, oh, 17-19mm or so if they go that high.

Of course, I'm good for the price + shipping, etc...

One thing I do wonder about is what happened to the 28th drill you bought since it looks like there are only 27 in the pic.

Elroy had (10) of the 1/8" stubbies and didn't notice that one of them hit the floor.

They only had the two metrics listed.

Need some address info in some PM's

Looks like Elroy has (4) requests. Just about everyone is looking for double sets. Cut-off time has arrived. Elroy will post up the "haul" later so stayed tuned.

Elroy needs some ship to addresses. Post it up guys. If Elroy is burning the cash to procure. The least you can do is let him know where to send the goods.

What's the benefit/need of LH drill bits?

2 reasons:
1. your drill is broken and only goes the "wrong way" :)
2. you want to drill out a broken bolt/screw - oftentimes, you don't need to use the extractor you're drilling for, the bolt/screw comes out with the drilling action alone.

useful tool to have....

We have returned with 112 drill bits. Elroy has $56 invested in this "goodwill" gesture. At this point only have (1) ship to address. Come on guys. 47 cents plus 6% tax yields a "half buck" each. Get them addresses in Elroy's PM. These are nice High Speed bits for the coin. Shipping will occur this coming Monday. That is if you guys get them address submitted.

There is a "slight" change is sizes available. Still basically the same stuff. Southern had these bits in boxes and with customers rooting around, some of them were mixed up. Little later tonight, Elroy will break down the sizes AGAIN.

Keep them Addresses coming.

PM sent with address and total request. Thank you very much for going out of your way to get us this deal.

You're welcome! Elroy was glad to accommodate his fellow Garage Journal members.

Elroy now needs YOUR help. What would be a good shipping route. :headscrat

UPS is quick and easy for Elroy BUT their prices actually ****. How would you guys like to see these packages shipped. ???

Please advise.

Just got my INTERNET connection back.. Seems that Charter had the system down for MA & CT for most of the day.. If you find that you have any extras, then just add them to my "stash" and send me the total.. I just PM'd you my address for UPS, but it is up to you as to how you want to send them. I am not in any rush, so if isn't convenient, then wait till after the first of the year. Thanks Junk...

GOOD

Or is that "Good things come to those who wait"

Like I said in the PM. Elroy will go through the pile and divide up the haul. The sizes got a little mixed up. The best thing is, Elroy picked up a BUNCH of the smaller sizes. These should come in real handy.

Look for a size listing later this weekend

Here are the sizes that were procured. The *** indicate "new" sizes.

(8) Pc. 1/2"
(8) Pc. 31/64"
(8) Pc. 15/32"
(8) Pc. 29/64" ***
(8) Pc. 25/64" ***
(8) Pc. 23/64
(8) Pc. 5/16"
(8) Pc. 19/64"

(24) Pc. 11/64"
(24) Pc. 1/8"

Most all bits measure "under size" by at least .001". Elroy anticipates each of the four packages will contain (2) each of the larger sizes AND (5) of the smallest sizes for a total of (26) bits in each package. Elroy is going to retain the rest of the smaller bits if you all don't mind. Looks like $13 bucks plus shipping. Currently it looks like the "post office" is going to get the honors. Please advise if anyone needs to make changes in their order.

Why does Elroy feel like he's running a medicine show??

Anyways, As stated before, these are all nice high speed bits. You guys will like them. Elroy has complete confidence all the funds will be forwarded. Enjoy your new tools.

OK, why does Elroy refer to himself in the 3rd person? All Tim can think of is the episode of Seinfeld where they do that! Sounds funny reading the posts, I (I mean, Tim) likes it!

Four packages hit the road yesterday via "Parcel Post".

Talking about getting "hit". As Elroy was getting back into his truck at the post office. An elderly lady decided to turn off her hearing aid and back by "ear". Yep, this old lady backed into Elroy's truck and broke the tail light. Thanks a lot.

Picture.jpg

Elroy included his business card in each package. If each of you fine folks would please just sent a check for the postage plus the $13.00 for the bits to this address he would much appreciate it.

Elroy would like to get some feed back on these bits after you get your packages.

3 cheers to Elroy! Got a well packed and good sized Bag O Bits today.
Thanks again for going out of you way for some fellow garage junkies. LH bits are a good old school method that works well when done right. I hate not so easy outs. sorry about the truck light. no good dead goes unpunished. I'll make sure it does not go unpaid. Vicegrip's check is on the way.

As for feed back. Mine look great and there is a good selection but I think they are defective! I put one in my drill press and it could not drill a hole in much of anything. Do you have to chuck LH bits upside down? ;)

Yep, These are nice bits but you can forget about a drill press. :headscrat

Not many of them turn backwards. Hope you weren't planning on using them that way. It's going to be hand drill time. That is whay Elroy loaded up on the smaller sizes.

In Foghorn Leghorn voice 'Now that there's a joke son" ;)

I did dig through a big box of leftover hand me down from somewhere bits looking for an odd size with a mike in hand. Found one and by golly it looked good too. Chucked it up on the press. Took me about 2 seconds of drilling to realize I had found a LH bit. Was happy to have found it thinking there were more. Nope only one in a box of 200+ bits.

Elroy does not comment on question as to why he refers to himself in the third person. Perhaps the typist is actually Elroys wife - and she tells Elroy what to do, when and how.:bounce:

Elroy does not comment on question as to why he refers to himself in the third person.

The truth be known, Elroy actually grows tired of the same ole pointless questions. Case in point; Elroy received this PM just the other night:

xxxxxx said:
Hey, im not trying to be mean or anything but why do you talk in the third person?

Actually Elroy only types in the third person and this was Elroy's PM'ed response:

Elroy said:
Because it makes things fun and exciting. Elroy wouldn't have it any other way and he is sure you wouldn't want it any different.

Perhaps the typist is actually Elroys wife - and she tells Elroy what to do, when and how.:bounce:

Perhaps.

You be the judge if Elroy has a pair. You are always showing us your race car drivin trophy wife bent over a ricer fender.

Allow Elroy to conjecture that your wife was showing e-tek what to do,when and how to do it. So who wears the the pants in your house hold and who has the pair?

:pimpflash

Well the ole Elroy was initially excited when his secretary brought in the mail this afternoon because there was a package that Elroy was certain contained his new Bahco wire cutters that he submitted to Williams a few week weeks ago for warranty

Picture005.jpg

But this was not the case at all. It was actually the package of Left Hand drill bits that Elroy procured for the "Gunman". It appears that the automated sorting equipment at the post office decided to have some drill bits for lunch. The post office opened up the package and found Elroy's return address.

Picture001.jpg

You know "Gunman", good things come to those who wait and it looks like Uncle Sam is making you wait just a little bit longer. Sorry for the delay.

Elroy is also please to report that all the other checks that were expected delivered today as well. THANKS GUYS !
