i can honestly say, that is something i have never thought of that would be an issue to a left handed person. i did just pull one out of my desk and tried to use it with my left hand...it didnt work so well.

I'm left and wouldn't buy that. That would be like putting numbers on the tape downside up or putting right side hot on the bath.. :eyecrazy:

After I learned to read a dial upside down . . .

I was still right handed.

Now, did Kevin see some LH calipers in the latest Travers mailing too, inspiring this thread?

I'm a lefty, and never thought there would be a need for one of those, I don't have any issues with a standard caliper, but I have learned to do a lot of things right handed, so maybe I have adapted.

Whereas a tape measure is used in situ from the left or right to measure and mark your work a vernier is not. Your attention goes to the careful positioning of the measuring points on the jaws, then the sliding jaw is snugged tight with the clamp. Then you move the calliper away from the work up to your eye for the reading so I see no real advantage for a lefty here.

Not the greatest brand but for garage use I'd buy a pair mainly for measuring where a typical righthand won't work for one reason or another due to it's righthanded design. I've ran into that problem before where a lefthanded caliper would have worked. Thanks for posting, now I know they make them I'll have to get a pair.

Nope. I received it in my e-mail

Fowler isn't a bad brand. Years ago they used to be, but recently (the last 10 years maybe) they have really stepped up to the plate. The pair shown is only like $45. Not a bad price for a 12" set of lefties.

I'll have to see if I can post the e-mail that I received.
